Pumping wells

The wastewater is collected at the inlet of the pumping well before treating it. Normally, a solids collection container (for small flows) or a grate for large solids (as long as there is not a roughing or a screening, and the discharge has a load of solids larger than the pump´s passage) are placed in this well inlet to avoid blockages.

Wastewater pumping facilities can be classified into two broad groups:

  • Pumps that are submerged in the well itself or in the pumping chamber (more common)
  • With the pumps installed in a dry chamber

These pumping wells are made of GRP or PP and can be cylindrical or prismatic. They are delivered either fully equipped from the factory or only the tank.
